Odds: Harvard w/ Legacy vs. Columbia

I'm thinking I'll probably apply early either to Harvard, from which my mom got her phd (not a major donor alas) or Columbia.

I have good stats and ECs, a little weak on community service, but I'm just asking in general (these schools scare the hell out of you when you visit) which oughtta give me a better shot.

First check and make sure Harvard considers grad school student's kids legacies, many schools do not. Anyway, isn't Harvard EA?

Harvard is EA but i think that's still a better shot than RD no? especially as a legacy -- yeah anyone know about phd counting as legacy at harvard or at princeton (dad's) ?

Columbia is binding, so obviously if you don't have a clear first choice you should go for Harvard.
