Odds I get into Wesleyan?

Right now Wesleyan is my top pic and I want to apply for EDII in a few days. I want to do their 3-2 program with Columbia engineering. I know I'm smart enough and motivated enough to do it once I get there but a lot of high school was trial and error so I don't know if my app will reflect that.

Chance me?

GPA:
Cumulative GPA: 3.2292
Academic Core GPA: 3.6667
Weighted Cumul. GPA: 4.8542
Class Ranking: 22 out of 443

Senior course load: AP Calc BC, AP Physics 1, AP Stats, AICE Chem, AP Brit Lit, AICE Sociology, Virtual Lab (I'm doing spanish 1, spanish 2, US government, and PE online. It's not a free period. Also didn't fail these either I just took a bunch of other classes throughout high school and need these last few to graduate.)

SAT: 2240 (superscored from 2 sittings)
SAT II: Physics: 770, Math II: 770

ECs:
Currently president of two clubs: Mu Alpha Theta (math club) and Chemistry club.
Debated in 9th grade and won the occasional (and imo insignificant) local award here and there. But quit due to $$$
Business Professionals of America 11th grade. My team and I placed first in the regional, first in the state, and didn't place at the national. I was not at the national tournament however due to schedule conflicts with AP exams.

Recs: Received one from my chem teacher who I've known all through high school (Honors, AP, and AICE chem plus freshman year) and is also the chem club sponsor.
Also received another from my Calc BC teacher who I've known all four years.
I haven't read either because it's the common app and I waived my right to view but I trust them and know how intelligent/caring they are with this stuff. I've also talked to some people who have gotten letters from them and they were all happy. I'm assuming the letters are excellent.

Essay: Idk. I have a lot to talk about: went from Alg 1 to Calc BC in 4 years, taught myself music theory when they wouldn't make a class for it, went to a VERY ghetto middle school (guns/sex/drugs were ubiquitous), and live with my mom who only went as far as a high school diploma in Honduras (but my dad has a degree so I'm not first gen).

High school: Public school in South Florida for all four years.
Race: (kinda funny) Mother is Honduran and father is half white/half Asian. So I'm .5 Honduran, .25 white, .25 Asian. But I look and identify as a Honduran if that makes any difference(?) Also they're divorced and I live with my mom so might as well haha
Gender: male
First language: English
Status: US citizen; would need fin aid

If this was a long read I apologize. Just been thinking about this a lot lately since Wesleyan is my #1 choice right now. If you cared enough to read this far and can give me a assessment of my chances, I'd be very grateful.

I actually sent a pm to @wesleyan97 with my stats before I made this to ask for his opinion. Realized I might as well make a thread so other people can join in on the discussion haha

Your unweighted GPA is a bit low for Wesleyan, but I’m sure they would consider your rank and circumstances. Test scores are good, but EC’s are a bit lacking…
It’s hard to say, but frankly speaking, it’s a low reach. Maybe a 30-40% chance.

If you don’t mind, chance me back for Wes! It’s one of my top choices too.

I think that you have excellent stats and a very good chance. I see nothing to keep you out. Good luck! Chance back? :slight_smile: <a href=“Chance me for Vassar I'll chance back :) - Vassar College - College Confidential Forums”>Chance me for Vassar I'll chance back :) - Vassar College - College Confidential Forums;

Ayee you should pm me what school you go to, I’m from south florida and I go to a public school

I also think you have a great chance! Go for it!

Not sure if you’ve read the book about Wes admissions written by Jacques Steinberg. You would find it interesting. I think your chances are very good. Do you apply for the dual degree program now or later? If they turn you down for dual degree program does it just mean you are considered along with other Wes applicants
