Odds of getting accepted to a UC? HELP!

I currently attend a community college in the high desert and am applying to all 9 UC's by the end of the November for computer science. I currently have a transferable gpa of 3.3. I currently work as a computer programmer, so I work in my major. I give weekly talks at the high desert web developer meetup, and I run the computer programming and web page design competitions at SkillsUSA (A competition for high school students). I tutor high school students in computer science, and perform other types of community service. By the end of the fall semester I will have 62 transferable units. I have A's and B's in all my major prep classes, and 2 C's in 2 of my general ed classes. I have three more general ed classes to finish (foreign language, another history class and another social science class). By the Fall of 2014 I will only be missing 1 major prep class which is Physics 203, Electromagnetic's.

I'm extremely self conscious about the applications. I'm not sure that I have a good enough gpa, academic history, community service, etc. The school I really want to go to is UCSD so I can continue through to the masters and hopefully Ph'D program. Does anyone have any prediction on which schools would except me? Anything helps, even being told no UC will accept me.

Thanks!

If you applied to them all, I’m sure you’ll find a place. The UC’s have pretty good rates for transfer admission. Sure, only 10 percent come from out-of-state but then, there aren’t nearly as many out-of-state transfer applicants either. Average GPA UC transfer overall is a 3.4 which means you are in the middle (though I’m sure it varies by campus.) Not a terrible place to be. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! I should note since I left it out I am not an out state transfer.

Note that UCB, UCI, and UCSC offer CS majors that do not require physics, according to the ASSIST reports.

You seem very focused and involved in your major. I would bet money you get into some UCs. I don’t know which ones, but some.

I think you’ll be fine, although UCSD might be tough. You should do okay since you’re in state.

I’d say up to UCSD you have a decent chance.

Look into TAG for Davis / Irvine / SB. For UCSD, just hope that it works out. I got in through the waitlist (with a GPA of 3.2-3.4 as a communications major), so I think you have a good chance to get in (through the waitlist or regular admission)
