I've been doing theater for years, but was only recently in mainstage productions. My senior year at a new high school, I starred in Guys and Dolls as Adelaide and Moon Over Buffalo as Charlotte Hay (Carol Burnett's role on Broadway). I have a lot of natural talent, moderate training, but I definitely could use a lot of training, which is what I think AMDA will give me. Will they look for someone already completely polished, or someone like me, who has lots of potential but could use a whole lot of training before going professional?

My grades are fairly good (3.6 GPA), I didn't take the SATs or ACT. Odds?

I was thinking the exact same thing when i auditioned. I thought of soo many reasons why they wouldnt take me. Until.... i thought to myself, this is a school. If you were a great actor, you wouldnt need to go to school. They want students with POTENTIAL and STRENGTH to get through their rigorous training. I went to the audition completley natural and myself and they loved me. I am now attending AMDA, starting this september, to get my BFA in Musical Theater. You sound like you have a lot of talent, I think you will be fine. =] Break A Leg.

I think you should go for it. I have a friend attending who's only training was the theatre he did with school and around the community, no private voice training, dance lessons, or acting classes (aside from the drama classes offered at school, but ours aren't very intensive). And even though you've only just gotten a few leads, it proves that you've worked hard and improved, and I think they'll look highly on that. Just my thoughts, I'm not a prospective theatre major or anything, it's just a hobby, but I think you should just go for it. :)
