Odds with updated scores

Hi,
I am an international student;

My November SAT: 1440 (CR:390 M:660 R:390)

My January SAT: 1560 (CR:430 M:710 R:420)

SAT Subject Tests: Math L2: 700, Physics:580)

TOEFL: 96

Cumulative GPA: 71% includes senior GPA (When converted to US system from my country’s system, it makes something between 2.5-3.0)
But I improved and my senior year GPA is 87.5% yet with the most demanding class choice. (3.3 on US system)
These may seem very low except my “very high” senior GPA, but the rest is considered as average in my country.

There are no rankings in my school but as I assume, this year I’m one of the best.

Extracurricular activities:
Basketball
Archery
Science and Technology Club membership
Mechatronics Club membership
Online volunteering work through Twitter
Class Body Representative at student government
Project festival participation
I made a research project on renewable energy with a good university in my country that I want to develop during college.

I have an outstanding/extraordinary/challenging/painful life story full of transition, which I believe I reflected pretty good essays.

I believe my recommendations are good.

What are my acceptance chances for

MIT

Brown
Cornell
Dartmouth
Harvard
Princeton
Upenn
Yale

Stanford
NYU
JHU
Purdue

UCSC
UCI (UCs only received November SAT and the subject tests)
UCR

Virginia Tech
NYIT
City College of New York (CUNY/CCNY)

Hofstra University

I applied all of them regular action for Fall 2016

(I want to major in Electrical Engineering)

Thank you!

I do not know about the rest, but I’m sorry to say that your scores are really low for ivies, MIT, Stan, JHU, NYU and Purdue. I dont think that you can make it to any of those places no matter how great your ECs/essays are with your current scores.

It would be better if you start looking schools that are within your reach

UCR: Possible
UCSC: Maybe
UCI: No
Test scores are low especially for engineering. I agree with above poster and look for more schools within your Reach. Consider a Gap year to work on bringing up your scores. Good luck

MIT - reach
Brown - reach
Cornell - reach
Dartmouth - reach
Harvard - reach
Princeton - reach
Upenn- reach
Yale- reach
Stanford - reach
NYU - reach
JHU - reach
Purdue - reach
Hofstra University - reach/low match.
To be completely honest, your SAT scores/GPA are/is way too low for any of the highly competitive schools. (MIT, Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princton, UPenn, Yale, Stanford, NYU, JHU). Those schools are a reach for people even with 2400 and a 4.0. Purdue is very spontaneous with their admissions, but I still believe your credentials are too low. Hofstra might be different, I’m not sure. I applied for the fall of 2016 with an 1800 SAT, a 3.2, and a 26 & I got deferred to regular decision. But, then again your hooks and whatnot might be better. I would say you should research more schools that are matches and low reaches instead of applying to a load of schools that are seemingly impossible (sorry not trying to be harsh, hope it didnt come off like that).

No problem, didn’t hurt me. I applied to so many because I had fee waiver for each school

Hi:)
I don’t mean to sound harsh but you should really start looking at some realistic options.
students with 2400 SAT and a perfect 4.0 GPA get rejected from all those elite schools all the time.
Better safe than sorry right? I’d suggest you immediately start researching colleges that you might have a shot at.
