Volunteered every summer at the boys and girls club. 4 summers of 100+ hours (including this summer)

Teacher recommendations
I've read that JMU doesn't take GPA in consideration too highly, but my Low GPA is from my freshman year grades and me sucking at math every year Ds and Cs until A's and B's my senior year.
JMU is my first choice and ODU is my safety I'd say, This will pretty much be my transcript by the time I graduate so I can't really add much too it. Anyone have any other ideas to help with JMU? Maybe a letter of my interest? Please help!</p>

<p>I think you look good for both. JMU isn’t looking at GPA this year because it’s so subjective. They’re focusing on SAT/ ACT, course load, extra curriculars…and ODU is easy to get into.</p>

<p>Instate w/ a 32 ACT and good ECs? You’re in at both, they could maybe even be safeties haha you could probably reach higher if you want… UVA, W&M, Tech, but the GPA could be low for those. Good Luck!</p>

<p>I don’t about all that! haha But it really makes me glad to see that you all think I have a pretty good chance, I know I can’t rely completely on this but, I honestly didn’t think I had much of a chance for JMU because of my GPA. Keep em comin! I’ll chance ya back!</p>
<p>Last bump, just trying to get a little more feedback. And Catria I see you have said Low match for a lot of other people on their JMU chance threads, and it looks like to me they have a way better chance than I do but you said I’m a match, still believe that?</p>
<p>I think the people for whom JMU was a low match had better GPAs than you. But you still have a chance for JMU, and better odds than schools that I would classify as a reach in your context.</p>
