I'm considering majoring in Philosophy and was looking over the viewbook which says that on average 16 students graduate with a Philosophy degree per year. Is that all? I'm also looking over the course catalog right now and noticing that a lot of classes may only have 3 spots for junior majors (which is what I'd be coming in as). Do you think I'm going to be at a major disadvantage because I'll be a transfer, likely with last pick, and these classes reserve few spaces for people like me?

brand: I can't say for sure, but profs at Wes tend to be understanding...even if you don't get into a class during regular registration, we have a drop/add period where you can go talk to the professors, and many will let at least some people into their class. I would imagine most would be very open to letting a transfer who wants to major in..

The other thing is that the distribution among grades isn't fixed. So while only three spots might be "reserved" for juniors during pre-registration (which you wouldn't be doing since you're a transfer), the reality is that during drop/add, the class year breakdown can change completely and it doesn't mater what year you are.

thanks for the replies.

I was wondering - I seem to recall someone on here was a transfer to Wesleyan (from Northwestern)? I'd like to ask you a couple questions about your experience, or if there are any other people that have transferred to Wes that I'm not aware of, let me know.
