# of SAT subject tests

How many subjects tests have you taken or plan to take? Considering this is CC aka serious students, I am almost scared about the responses ;)

Iekhwhao ijglk subjecccccT?

I'm only taking three. I want to get a 700+ on all three (already have one down, USH with a 770).

Some people take 5-8, but its just unnecessary. No college wants more than 3. I've taken the Bio-M, Math IC, and Latin. Its usually a good idea to takes subject tests for the sort of school/program you want to go to. Eg, some like to see a math/sci and humanities SAT II, an engineering school might like physics and Math IIC, etc...

I'll be taking no more than 3. More than that is excessive.

when is the next date we can take SATII?

I think November youknowme?

I took USH, 2c, and Lit. I hope to get 700+ in each, though 650 or higher wouldn't be all that bad for SAT IIs. I don't think colleges want/need to see more than 3 (in some cases 2) either.

This thread might be helpful: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=154434&page=1&highlight=WesDad+SAT

I'm taking four...I don't think its horrible: 2 sciences (Physics and Chem), Math (II), and US History. I figure most colleges will just take the top two scores...

four: chemistry, spanish, Math II, and USH

i have a question about the SAT II tests.

im a native speaker of two languages, and i got very good scores on both of them. i have also taken math II and chem. but i feel like i need to take some more (most likely french and world history) because the two languages that i took are the languages i grew up with and im afraid that colleges wont count them because that's not what i studied at school.

is it necessary to do this? would colleges count languages as "easy" SAT IIs and hold it against me? (im most likely saying in my college app that im a native speaker of the languages)

Aren't all of them treated the same? I have a question as well for colleges...do you think colleges really care if you take 5 rather than the required 3, I'm curious, whether it would be a waste of my time to even study for extra subject tests

I believe I'll take 4. I was only gonna take 3, but then USH ended up being below what I wanted.

most colleges ive looked at want 3 math II, a science and a humanitites

Which schools are those Mike?

Oh man, most schools only look at three? I've taken around eight so far... what a waste. I have okay scores on all of them, like above 750 or so, so I hope that'll be ok. Do you think I'll be alright?

It depends on how I do on these three that I took on Saturday, but I might take another go-around of 3 again.

So I guess 3-6.

I took 5, Physics 760, Chem 760, US History 760, Math2 740, World History 680

I've taken two, Bio M (June of 9th) and US History (May of 11th). Biiiig mistake on waiting. Now I find myself in a bind with only one test date left before ED are due next year, if I decide to do that. I made the mistake of taking just US in May after the AP, I should have at least taken another with that but I was busy with APs and everything.

Depends on where you're thinking of going though, many good schools just want 2 or will look at your best 2 even if you submit more (I know NYU does that) or don't even technically "require" it.

Us history, math iic, world history, biology, chemistry, physics.
taken all.
going to retake the lowest score - either chem/physics.
and focus on that.
