You slap your resume here and give 4 universities that most of us aren’t really familiar with. How would we know? Just look at what universities generally want. Strong ECs, good scores, which you have. They’ll all consider you very well, but not many of us can instantly rate which one would give 80% inclination versus 70% or something. Are you asking for something else?

uh no.. i’m not asking for anything else.. i was just looking for an opinion of which one of these places is my best bet..

Your gpa might hurt you for UW, but everything else is fairly strong.

How is this not a chances thread?

you’re most likely to get into the worst school on that list. Like srsly, what kind of question is that. If my questions was “which of these schools do i have the greatest chance of getting into? Oakland community college, University of Michigan, Stanford, or Harvard?” What answers do u think i’d get?

I think you have the best chance at UIUC simply because they have an outrageous 70% acceptance rate, which makes it actually harder to not get accepted than get accepted.

a 70% acceptance rate doesn’t mean it’s easier to get in than it is to
get rejected. and 70% isn’t outrageous, it’s pretty normal.

UWashington is very, very picky about low GPA’s. There are plenty of kids from my school (I’m in-state) that get rejected every year with stellar extracurriculars and essays, simply because they have a 3.5 or lower GPA.

However, that should not deter you from trying, just keep a realistic mindset. It’s a really awesome school, and it is definitely worth your time to apply there.

Trust me when I say UIUC has a very misleading acceptance rating. It’s a very selective school and many kids in Illinois don’t bother to apply unless they are in the top 10% of their class and have an ACT of 27 or higher. Their stats speak for themselves. With that said, besides GPA, you have a decent shot at UIUC.

lol, ok.

OP, I think your chances at UW-Madison and UIUC are slim. I personally know countless people from HS with similar/better stats who’ve been denied. It’s all about that GPA/ACT combo.

Fairly accurate. UIUC accepts so many students because it knows it will always have a crappy yield. All the top IL HS students toss in a safety app to Champaign, get in, and the vast majority end up matriculating elsewhere.

agreed with paul09

UIUC is an awesome state school, but the admit data can be misleading.
UWashington is 87% in state and UIUC is 93% in state. (USNWR)
these aren’t the acceptance percentages, but in regards to this data, the applicant pool is self selective. (as paul09 pointed out).

in terms of what schools would want you most, that’s quite hard to say. they are large state schools take only a few minutes to review you application essays.

good luck though! i love UWashington

Ok, I guess you’re right.. this is kind of a chances thread.

So they’re all reaches? What about UMDCP.. no one said anything about it.

Could someone suggest a match or two then? (large state schools)

Why haven’t you talked about U Minnesota? It is your own state school after all.

To answer the question: whichever can get you with the least amount of financial aid.
