I'm moving to Montreal in June but I haven't decided on where to live yet. I haven't even looked at many places. The worst thing about looking for studio apartments online is that I don't feel secure with my choice, since most websites tend to be deceiving with pictures. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to look for decent studio apartments that are close to the downtown McGill campus? Thanks!

You can try to look for studios in the McGill ghetto area, of course. Also, any apartment that is within reasonable walking distance of a Green line metro station is close to the Downtown Campus, IMO.

As to the searching process, I recommend that you come to MTL a bit before the date when you want to move in. Check into a hostel or a cheap hotel.
Why don't you ask the Housing Office? I was under the impreesion that they have an "off-campus" housing service.

I suggest you rent a sublet in June for three months and look around
while you are in the three month period. You can also find a sublet with
an option to extend in September for the whole year. There are many summer sublets available.

you should check www.mls.ca might help you a bit.

I guess my only option now is to look online. so any websites would help. thanks!
