Off-Campus Housing - PLEASE HELP

So I won't be staying on campus next year and need some advice, mainly from those who are on financial aid. My biggest concern is that I will not be able to lease a place. I state this because my credit is average, and I have a repossession on my record that took place about 4 years ago. On top of that, I don't know anyone who would be able to cosign for me (my mother doesn't really have credit so she wouldn't qualify). FYI I was looking into La Jolla Palms and Costa Verde Towers. When I speak with a leasing agent would I just show them my financial aid package? Is this sufficient enough? Also, when should I start looking?

Is there anything I should be aware when dealing with leasing agents? In general as a first time leasee?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Big thanks to everyone who gives legit advice on here!

bump. anyone?
