For off-campus housing, would you say there are more houses or more apartments available? Which of the two are more popular among students?

The Georgetown neighborhood is almost entirely townhouses. I have never heard of an undergraduate not living either in West Georgetown or Burleith when off campus, as the campus is the focus of the social scene.

In 8 or 9 times out of ten most housing off campus will be a townhouse with 4-6 people living in it. However it is possible to find larger townhouses that have been divided into single floor apartments (this is what I have). In terms of popularity, mostly due to availability, townhouses are the more popular and the apartments don’t really save you much money (if any).
