Off campus housing recommendations ASAP.

So I just have been accepted as a transfer student and I am wondering if people have recommendations for off campus housing. I would prefer the dorms(Frontier specifically as I am technically a freshman) but it seems they are all full along with the rest on campus housing. Thanks ahead of time!

Click on search for housing on the upper left. Hopefully this is a good link.

[University of Minnesota Housing & Residential Life - Twin Cities](http://www.housing.umn.edu/offcampus/information/student.shtml)

Also search for U of Minnesota lofts. Last year they built a few of these and maybe someone is looking for a roomie.

I got admitted and I am coming from out of state. I’ll be a transfer student- Spring 2012 Semester…so I have less than two months to get situated too ahhhhhh!!! :(

What is a Loft KAJON, and how do I get one? I did an application for On-Campus housing, and they said they’ll let me know in 2 weeks if I got approved or not…so worried because I’ve never lived on my own, so off campus is a bit scary lol

Something like this: http://sydneyhallresidences.com/neighborhood/dinkydome/

I’m probably attending the UofM as a transfer student…but I’m from out of state and not guaranteed a dorm…so, how would I find a room mate? do they usually assign transfer students room mates based on interests or some type of survey? lol, I’m so confused. ha.

[University of Minnesota Housing & Residential Life - Twin Cities](http://www.housing.umn.edu/offcampus/information/student.shtml) <—I visited that website, but it still doesn’t answer the whole room mate thing. I’m assuming most people already know each other up there, so it’s easier to find a room mate…but then there’s cases like ME! So…how does that work? I don’t want to go on Craigslist and find some like creepy roommate that I would not get along with AT ALL. Thanks!

Creepy roommates are part of the U experience, everyone goes through it at least once, didn’t you read that part of the admissions letter!

No, seriously. I need a legit answer to my question.

Most students looking for someone to sublease from them are posting their vacancies on either facebook marketplace or craigslist. It’s not really that creepy if you contact them ahead and ask to tour the place.

You can also contact the apartment complexes and ask if they have a list of people who are looking for someone to sublet. Most of these apartments keep a list of their tenants wanting to fill their vacancy.
Some apartment complexes around campus are:
FloCo Fusion
1301 Apartments
Sydney Hall
University Village
University Commons
Elmwood Apartments
Stadium View Apartments
Marcy Holmes Apartments
412 Apartments
Keeler Apartments

Just call and they should be able to help you.

It is very easy to find a place to sublease around campus. Also, students will post flyers around campus with their information about sublets available.
