What would be considered a decent deal for monthly rent on a 1-bed apt (about 10/15-minute drive from campus)? I wanted to sign an 8-month lease this year because I'll be graduating soon, my apt place jacked my rent up by $120, which makes it $635/month. The place is fairly quite but old and kind of far from campus. I can't decide whether to stay or move out. Opinions would be appreciated.

dude, move out. you can find cheaper places closer to campus.

Yeah. Move out. My rent is dropping from $540 to $480 for this upcoming year, and in my opinion I'm in a better house and my room will be brand new.

Where do you guys live? My classes are on north campus. I'd prefer a place less than 10 mins from north. I guess I'll call around.

i just called a few apt places close to north campus, i was quoted around $700 even for a 12-month lease. i didn't even bother to ask about how much more for an 8-month lease. :(
