<p>What’s the best way to go about finding off-campus housing within walking distance to campus? I assume these locations would be mostly privately owned apartments and houses. Is there a realtor in the area who specializes in this kind of leasing? </p>
<p>Would also be interested in any feedback from those of you who are living/have lived close to campus in some of these smaller units. Feel free to PM me if you have advice, recommendations or warnings related to specific properties. </p>

<p>College Station Properties has a lot of apartments within walking distance to campus. There is also East Edge that is walking distance, plus has a Crimson Ride stop nearby. There is another rental management company that slips my mind right now. There is an apartment finder booklet around campus that lists all of the student apartments, distance from campus and amenities. My kid chose East Edge over one of the College Station properties that was near the football stadium. While I cant offer any recommendations, I will say that I never heard any negative feedback about any of the available units near campus. I really dont have my ear-to-the-ground on this topic, so there may be other parents with more and better information.</p>
