I'm a junior transfer student to FSU for the Fall and was wondering about housing. Thought about staying on campus for a semester or two just to get use to the school, but all applications for housing are now closed. So I guess my only option is to live off campus and was wondering of any tips that someone could give me about the different places.

Looking for a nice place to stay but don't want to spend a fortune and how it works if you sign up for a place do they set you up with a roommate or do you have to find your own? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Most places will do roommate matching. They’ll ask you a bunch of questions about stuff and match you by your responses. There are TONS of options around the campus but most get pretty full so you should not wait to set it up if you want something fairly nice. Prices generally start in the mid 400’s and go to almost 700 a month.

I am also in the same kind of situation. I am also transferring in as a Junior. I need to start looking for housing lol.

Right now I’m a junior at FSU, So welcome! You guys are right on time for football! I’ve been living in an apartment complex on Pensacola St called Villa Del Lago. I’ve been here for two years now. The rooms are spacious, every room has its own bathroom, I also have a mini-fridge and microwave and a pantry. I live in a 4/4 flat, but they also have 4/4 townhouses and 2/2 if you don’t know that many people. But you can always do randoms, “alongwait” is right, they do roommate matching forms and they matched me perfect. My roommates and I have been getting along for two years now and will be living together next year too. They’ve been my best friends. The apts also can come furnished or unfurnished, but we got a flat screen tv and leather couches which are awesome. When you guys come to town, come take a tour, the rent is lower than other place around town and there is a FSU bus stop close by so if you dont have a car you can take the bus. If you don’t like it here, some names of other complexes off the top of my head are Venetian villas, seminole grand, campus walk, franklin point, west 10. If you guys have an questions about anything feel free to PM me.

^ Easy commute to Georgia!

I’m staying at Savannahs, and it’s extremely close to campus. It’s located on Carolina St, behind the apartments behind DeGraff hall. Pretty easy walk to campus too, can either walk down Copeland, or walk from Carolina to Woodward, then all the way down to the Student Union. Downside of the apartment is that you have to supply your own internet service, which means you probably be using the dreaded sorry ass for a company Comcast.

My son will be a freshman in the fall. He’s not going to get oncampus housing. We’ve been exploring offcampus. Don’t want to sign a year lease, as he may not stay the summer and we’ve learned from his sister’s situation that subletting the place for the summer is easier said than done. The drawback to Southgate is you must purchase their meal plan; he’d like to do the campus mealplan. Studio Green rents for the academic year and doesn’t require a meal plan, but I’m hearing some bad things regarding its neighborhood, internet speed, the resident director. Does anyone have any suggestions–he won’t have a car his first year and we’re reluctant to sign a year lease. Thanks.

GOPDAD, I don’t think there are any apartment complex that has monthly leases that is in reasonable area and distance to FSU.

If his rent doesn’t exceed the 450 price range, and is in a good location, he should be able to find someone willing to sublease for the summer months if he does not decide to take summer classes.

make sure you google complexes for review. a suggestion in this thread that I am sure is an advertisement has TERRIBLE reviews.
