My son is a freshman at USC and is adamant about living off campus next year. I’m looking for guidance on how to navigate the search. When should the process begin and does anyone have apartment complex recommendations.
My daughter has lived at Greene Crossing and then moved to Aspyre. The latter is less expensive and the parking situation is better. She felt like she was getting nickeled and dimed at GC. On that side of campus, you cannot escape the noise of the trains. She says it took only a few weeks to acclimate. The USC shuttle bus system is good, but we went ahead and paid for an on campus parking space as her core classes are in liberal arts. She does walk when the weather is decent and she has time. Her STEM roommates always walk to class. Your son’s situation will be best with where his friends are and what he is willing to do with the commute.
Thank you @GCBMIB. He and his friends have looked at several complexes but are hesitant to commit (boys are never in a rush!) Are apartments readily available near USC or should I start encouraging them to speed up the process?
We’re in the same situation … freshman daughter wants to live off campus next fall. Are there any complexes that anyone would recommend staying AWAY from? Thanks.
