Do a lot of students live off campus? Are there good options?
I’m also looking into off-campus housing options and would love to here the opinions and experiences of current Tufts students. Thanks!
My son moved off campus for his junior year and has loved it. His house is actually as close to main campus as his freshman and sophomore dorms were. He lives on Bromfield Road, takes an uber to food shop once a week, and has had no problem with subletting his apt last summer and this summer while he’s done internships elsewhere.
I think he & his roommates began looking for the apt in the fall of his sophomore year and signed a lease by December.
Tufts has a decent off-campus housing website you should check out. Lots of good info and I think, if I remember correctly, a listing for apartments nearby. Also, they host an event during parents’ weekend for both students and parents (it was mainly students who were there) where they give out lots of good info about searching for an apt off campus, and a decent free lunch, too
What about looking for off-campus housing for the fall? I’m a transfer who didn’t get on-campus housing
@bb0411 first thing I’d do is contact the off-campus housing office, and see if they have a listserve of tufts ppl looking for an apt, or just to get some good advice.
I’d also check out if there’s a FB page for other transfer students and post that you’re looking for a roommate for off-campus housing and then look together.
Unfortunately there is not a fb page
