My daughter didn't get on campus housing. Does anyone know of a safe place to live?

Feel free to PM me as I transferred in a few years ago and spent a semester off-campus. I lived at Castle Point and was quite happy there. Turtle Creek is the closest to campus but it is a big party place so I really hesitate to recommend them unless your daughter as well as you are okay with there being parties around her literally every night. There are lots of good, safe options however so don't stress too much! Castle Point is good and I have heard good things about Clover Ridge. Really, I know of a lot of transfers who haven't gotten housing and none have really had significant problems, so it should work out fine (and some of them were even living in people's basements and what not).

My problem is the long term leases that I am expected to sign. Can you think of anyway around this? Thanks for your help!

Castle Point had the best policy for breaking a lease, which is why I went there. I think I had to give a month's notice and then pay an extra month, but that is about the best deal you will find. It isn't really the length of the lease (though some do offer semester leases, I think Castle Point does that as well) but rather how easy it is to get out of them.

BTW, is your daughter's former school BU? Just curious.
