<p>Does anybody have any suggestions on where to live that isn't through penn housing?</p>
<p>I'm looking for a 1 BR or studio and hoping for furnished places. I also want to live relatively close to campus, preferably 33rd-41st.</p>
<p>If it's your first year, you don't want to live off campus. That is not where the scene is for freshmen. Period.</p>
<p>The off-campus housing is typically rooms in houses. There are some apartments, but anything affordable and close to campus is a dump. There are some nice, very expensive private dorms. The further you get from campus, the cheaper the housing is. I wouldn't do it freshman year.<br>
My son is living off-campus soph year, and there are lots of choices.</p>
