Where do you look? D wants to live off campus after this semester - she'll be staying in Rochester working and going to school over the summer - so will be looking for long term rental - 1-2 years if possible. What are houses renting for? She will have a car after Spring Break - I am planning on making a visit to help with that. Any info would be helpful - Thanks

Some of the upperclassmen my d knows live in the Park Ave. area - lovely little residential area with quirky shops & restaurants. No idea what rent they're asking, though; d's only a freshman!

My ds#1 has an off campus apartment this year. We found it on Craigs List late last summer. We gathered from that list that apartments are running around $750 to $850 for a 2 bedroom. My son has a large studio apartment on the thrid floor of a housewithin a block of the hospital and he walks to the River Campus, about a 15-min stroll. He is paying $350 a month plus utility (split with the 2-bedroom apt one floor down. He does his laundry in the basement. There is off-street parking.

[He is thinking about going back on campus after this semester. So if you are interested in a sublet for the summer and then a longer term lease, pm me. We can keep in touch.]

When you look, you may want to keep in mind the bus routes to UR, off-street parking, laundry facilities - things to keep in mind when snow starts to fall.
