Off Campus Housing??

Does Ithaca College have a on campus housing shortage? What is the off campus housing like? Is it safe, decent, affordable??

You can’t live off campus until your senior year, even then there’s a lot of red tape, they really try to keep you on campus. Last year a shortage wasn’t too much of a problem but if they do have a shortage they will just put you in lounges. I don’t know much about the niceness of off-campus living, if you’re entering as a freshman I wouldn’t worry about it, it won’t affect you for a while.

There is not an on campus living shortage. Housing is gauranteed for the students, so don’t worry about it. Off campus housing is available (either through the school in the Circle Apartments/Garden Apartments or independently in the town) and is a little cheaper. However, the school makes it difficult to live off campus unless they have filled their dorms…if the dorms aren’t filled, they will make it harder to get a pass to live off campus. Their dorms are very nice and centrally located though, so I wouldn’t worry about it if I were you.
