Off campus move--need parking permit for U-haul type trucks

We will be moving our son into a house on Juliet St next week. We found out that street and many others need parking permits for cars. He won't have a car at Pitt, but I would assume we'll need a permit for when we visit or maybe just to have our car parked for a couple of hours during move in? We also will have a U-haul truck. Anyone have experience with needing a parking permit for a moving truck? I have the following link, and I'll call the office, but just wondering if someone has experience with this. http://www.pittsburghparking.com/rppp#purchase

I hope the move went smoothly, were you able to get the permits from the parking office?

We ended up “winging” it and not getting permits for the car or the truck. We really lucked out as the neighbor across the street who works during the day used cones to block off his two parking spots. We used that space as it was during the day and when he arrived home we were just moving the truck. He was very understanding and didn’t act like we did anything wrong. In the evening there a no spots on the street at all! We didn’t have any issues so I think when we visit we won’t worry about a permit since we won’t stay overnight at our son’s house.

That’s great that everything worked out for you and it’s always good to have nice neighbors.
