Off to a slow start, repeated classes

How would med schools look at classes that I repeated when computing my science gpa? Last spring I took chem 1 and flunked it (I made the mistake of taking 22 credit hours of which included 4 music ensembles, worked part time, extenuating circumstances) and college algebra on a S/U and got a U for the same reasons. Over the summer I retook them and got a B- and C- respectively. Would my AMCAS gpa include the original F? Also currently i'm taking bio 1 and chem 2 and worst case scenario assuming I get C's in both of them. Based on all the other classes I intend on taking now and until the end of my junior year and assuming I were to do extremely well, the best I could reasonably hope for would be a 3.2 or 3.3ish science gpa when applying to med school and a 3.5ish overall. How much of a disadvantage would I be at? Assuming I where to do well on the mcat (33+) and all of the other parts of my application are stellar (very exceptional life story and experiences, URM, very active on campus, research and some clinical experience), how do you think I'd fair? The schools that I am most interested in are UIC, UChicago, Northwestern (top choice), UMICH, UMissouri, and anyplace else where i'd be competitive. Please, give it to me straight.
Oh, currently I am a sophomore philosophy and biology major with a minor in creative writing and music performance.

All grades are included. It’s not reasonable to make projections based off of a hypothetical GPA and MCAT score.

You need to take it easy. I think you are being a little too ambitious with a double major in two unrelated subjects and two minors. Take small steps. IMO, you are spreading yourself way too thin here. Focus on getting A’s and B’s with a smaller workload and go from there. Quality over quantity.

In some ways I am being overly ambitious doubling majoring in the humanities and biology, but I started off as a Philosophy and English major and dropped it after looking things over and finally feel into being premed. I all ready have most of my credits for the philosophy major and just need one or two more classes for the english minor. bluedevilmike, I understand and apologize for being a little unreasonable with my post, but are people with those kinds of states (slow start, awesome finish) competitive at those schools? Not saying that i’m dead set on any of them, but I’m worried if I get C’s this semester that I will have dug myself into a hole that I might as well not even bother trying to get out of.

Two F’s and three C’s would be a very serious liability. No single component is ever enough to wipe you out completely, but this is a very serious problem.

Osteopathic schools, CCOM in Chicago, MSU in Michigan, DMU in DSM, Iowa, and Kirksville and KC in MO are something to check out. In the end you’re all doctors.
