Off-topic, bro

Those are all things that I have thought about/would love to do! Good job guys.

dfree I see you going into business or law. Maybe a corporate lawyer.

Oh, and by the way Anay, I’m listening to Blonde Redhead, they’re so good!

I could see something in the field of psychology too ! Or psychiatry

Which albums/songs? My personal favorites are 23 (the whole album) and In Particular off of Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons (among others).

dfree: I see Foreign Policy in your future for some reason. Perhaps a job with a diplomacy thinktank (think Council on Foreign Relations).

helloel you were half right there. Yes to business, no to law.

I actually really like Penny Sparkle, especially “Not Getting There”.

And I’m really into genetics! That’s what I plan on studying as of now.

Penny Sparkle was a great album. I’ve heard they’re fantastic live, but they never come to Chicago!

dfree: I’m assuming you’re looking at UPenn for Wharton then, right?

Giving the album another listen, I forgot how much I loved My Plants Are Dead. Such a lovely track.

Dunno yet. That would be the best case scenario but I might just apply to the college of arts and sciences so I have a better shot at getting in. I’d rather do that and study econ than not get in at all.

Yeah, Wharton’s competition may just be a waste of a college app for you. Econ is as capable of a major as Business, if not more.

While Penn’s econ is good, Wharton it the top of the top. I don’t think its fair to say that Penn’s econ = wharton, but econ certainly isn’t bad at all. It beats art history and women’s studies for sure lol. Outside of the top few business schools I think business is a pretty worthless major though.

Anay: I see you doing something with music, like a DJ or something. I know you said you wanted to be a neurosurgeon, so I can see that, too.
Helloel: Working in an office. A lawyer perhaps? The Diane Lockhart of her firm.
Dfree: A litigator. Someone tough and who isn’t afraid to cut others down to size.

I concur.

Nay to the neurosurgeon job, smorgasbord. Neuroscience was a prospective major. I personally cringe at the idea of being a practicing specialized surgeon. If anything, I’d take my M.D and go into research or World Health.

I’m the same way. I’d be more scared of operating than my patients were of me. I can’t even watch medical shows without getting squeamish. Guess my career?

Hm. I think lawyer, but for a thinktank or humanitarian initiative rather than a cold, heartless firm. You’d be fighting for a cause of some sort.

Nooo, not a lawyer! Even though both of my parents are lawyers, it does not interest me one bit. Good Wife reference, had to look it up, haha.

I could actually see you, smorgasbord, as being a lawyer though. Actually, I could see you working in media and communications as well. Maybe even public relations.

After googling it, I still have no idea what that job entails. A lot of people are looking for ‘social media’ interns at my school, though – you sit and update some company’s Twitter for free.

Anaychi, I guess I can see that – like a law firm specializing in protecting businesses or something.

Of course!

Sorry yeah that’s the wrong term. I guess I just generally meant communications. Or more specifically media studies and cognitive sciences.

Nah; not interested.

Smorgasbord, rather than reply to your PM, I’ll just post it here.

I got third at my district debate competition! My partner and I only lost to the winning team. On to regionals!

Are any of you guys in debate?

What debate competition were you participating in?
