This is just out of pure curiosity. I used to buy one pair per year, but ever since I started high school, I've been buying around 3 - 4 pairs per year... yikes. I wear each pair often though - except for my Doc Martens. I just wear those during the winter. I mostly buy sneakers. The pairs I wear the most are my black Original Classic Vans, hi top Comme des Garcons Converse, and New Balance 574s.

I'm really trying to break this habit, but I asked for a new pair of shoes for this Christmas.. :l I don't buy a lot of anything else, though. Just shoes.

When I buy shoes, it’s usually all at once and then none for a year. Since I’m a girl, it’s kind of expected to have lots of shoes, but I stick to what I need and borrow from my mom when I want to look cute (her taste in shoes is superb). I would say I get around 3-5 pairs a year. Out of that, one or two is what I buy personally and the rest is things my mom buys with the intention of us both wearing it.
If you’re not dead set on the vans and converse, (which in my experience wear out pretty quickly) I would invest in one or two nice pairs of nikes or Adidas that are built to last.

I buy probably 4-5 pairs of shoes a year, but mostly they’re cheap flats to go with my dresses for dances/concerts. I usually buy one pair of boots per year, and one pair of “casual” shoes (like converse). I haven’t bought new sneakers since the seventh grade (I only use them once a week, haha)

Once a year I get new boots and new sneakers. I’d probably buy them more often except for the fact that I wear size 11 women’s shoes and it’s hard to find ones that actually look good. My feet look ridiculous in sandals.

I usually just buy 2 pairs a year- one in the summer, one in the winter. Then again my feet stopped growing a while ago and I switch around quite a bit with my old shoes. Plus I’m more a clothes/accessories person.

I just buy shoes when I want them… It varies from year to year. I’m picky though so I don’t have too many shoes. I believe I have 7 pairs total (not including cheap $2 flip flops…) which I have purchased over the course of 3 years. I borrow from my mom quite a bit though for days when I don’t want to wear Sperry’s, tennis shoes, or flip flops, which is basically all I have lol.

I’m a girl and I only have around 3 pairs of “shoes” that I normally wear: sneakers for year-round, boots for the winter, and flip-flops/sandals for the summer. I probably get new shoes every 1.5 years, but sandals are cheap, so sometimes I have 2 pairs.

I just feel like 3 pairs of the same kind of shoes, especially boots (usually costing $100+) is kind of…exorbitant?

Whenever I find cute shoes on sale I HAVE to buy them. So I have a ton of shoes, and haven’t paid much for them. (Like, I have 5 pairs of boots, and the most expensive pair was 12 bucks. I’m good at bargain hunting haha.)

too often…but i just got a pair of shoes that i really wanted because they were ankle strap flats, and i didn’t previously have that type of shoe, and they were like $11 because they were on sale. pretty good deal

About 20-30 a year.
I then return about 19-29 of them. I love Zappos.
I’m a girl, and I usually buy shoes very rarely (and usually in a panic- oh my gosh I have my cousin’s wedding and I don’t have any nice shoes to go with this dress!), but usually when I do it’s at the beginning of the school year. I just got a nice pair of party shoes on clearance at DSW for about $25, but that’s only because my friend convinced me to buy them. I’m not the type to make impulse purchases like that.
Right now I’m actually in the market for new shoes because I need shoes that fit my brand-spanking-new orthotic insoles (boo hoo hoo), but as I haven’t been lucky in finding any yet I’m not counting that.
In general, I wear shoes until they’re worn out (I haven’t grown out of a pair of shoes since seventh grade), so that I’ll buy a new pair of standard, cheap school ballet flats about once every year or so but I’ve had the same boots and sneakers for years.

Like another poster said - I buy all of my shoes at once and then go a year without buying them. I have around 10 pairs - a lot of them are TOMS, a pair of Uggs, combat boots, and some riding boots. I bought half of them over the summer and the other half the previous summer.

I did buy a pair of Sperry’s for college a while back since it was Black Friday and they were marked down from 80 dollars to 26 or something, idk but I put them in storage so they wouldn’t get wrecked.

I don’t know. I haven’t thrown out shoes that are actually not wearable. If I don’t include the shoes I really should throw out, I have 8 pairs but I only actually wear like 2 regularly.

I don’t buy shoes very often though. Except for a pair of wedges, all my shoes are at least 2 years old.

Does anyone know how to protect the heel of boots from wearing down? I just bought a pair of pretty expensive boots a month or two ago (something over $100) and the heels are kind of getting ruined. I guess it’s partly because it’s not an “actual” heel - only two or three cm off the ground - but it still makes me kind of sad, haha. /:

I have 3 for winter: a pair of fake Ugg boots, a pair of combat boots, and a pair of sneakers. For warmer weather, I wear my sneakers, flip flops, or sandals. If I have to wear something dressy, I borrow something from my mom.
