No, I didn't send in anything extra. I figured Duke was just as good, so I didn't make much effort. If I do actually get off the waitlist, it will be hard to decide between Duke and Wharton...guess I'll worry about that if it actually happens.

Does anyone know if financial aid is any worse for waitlisters? Or would is it usually about the same?

Ahhhhhh! So it's officially begun, and I can officially start worrying. Fuuuun.

Of course, I already got off Williams and already deposited at Duke, so I shouldn't be complaining.. but, bleh, I reaaaally hope I get in... >.<

Sphairistic: What did you deposit for at Duke? I thought we didn't have anything to deposit for, at least not yet? That's what I seem to remember the letter saying.... Or did you just do it early?

Oh ok, good. I was like, "Oh no! Did I miss something?" So that's good. Go Duke! (unless I go to Wharton, which I doubt unless they give me more money)

The only negative I see is that the housing was due in by May 1st to be part of the housing lottery. That means that anyone accepted off the waitlist is not part of the housing lottery which means they have to get whatever is left. Other than the quad which is all freshman and a highrise, the other dorms are onlly 10% freshman which would make it hard to meet people first year.

A poster has reported on another thread on the Penn site that Penn according to an article today that only about 20-25 will be accepted off of the waitlist. 900 are currently on the waitlist.

question
dont u have to decide on a college by may 1st? so how do waitlist ppl get notified in june or july and still get to send in confirmations to other colleges? do those other colleges who've already accepted you wait for your decisions right up until fall?
(i dont know this b/c i got into penn in dec so im curious..)

In the agreement that you sign with the colleges by May 1st there is something that says that if you get off the waitlist at another school after May 1st you can notify the school you accepted that you are withdrawing your acceptance. You lose the deposit
