Just wondering what SUNYs offer computer science and which are good? I've read up on a few, but I don't think they're completely accurate.

I’m bumping this up,

A few years ago, my older son was looking at SUNY CS programs. The good news is that you have a lot of options from the smaller SUNYs to the Universities. My son wanted the smaller colleges not too far from home with scholarships available. He liked Oneonta and thought the CS prof was fun and quirky. Potsdam has one of the oldest programs and good connections for internships and excellent scholarships: son was offered free tuition. Plattsburgh has a tight knit program and son is attending there but has switched to Physics instead and doing a CS minor/and math minor. He would double major but all the physics, math, and CS 300 level plus courses meet at the same times and he wants to graduate early. (Plattsburgh, also, has very good scholarships and good honors programs available.) Obviously, Binghamton, Buffalo and Stony Brook would be worth a look if you want a larger school.

Thank you so much! If anyone else has any tips they’re welcome as well!

I don’t know about the physics, CS or math programs at Plattsburgh as my D is a music and education student, but she loves the school, they have good scholarships and a nice Honors program. She loves the area so much she’s up there this summer working.

I wll also say that the admissions people were the nicest we encountered anywhere.
