Heard there may be offers made already for MT in addition to the MANY placed on priority hold. Would love an accurate status report. Any news?

Texas State has rolling admission (offers are made throughout the process) as well as a system of putting candidates on priority hold and making offers at the conclusion of auditions. It is possible that offers have been made.

I havent heard of any offers but I have heard of some Priority Holds.

A young man from Florida received an offer in the Fall and, according to his college audition coach, he accepted and cancelled all of his callbacks. That’s all I’ve heard other than the priority holds.

I can confirm that a young man from Florida accepted an early offer from Texas State. He is my son and to our knowledge the only applicant to be offered a spot thus far. Since this is the final audition weekend I would guess offers will be made next week to the rest of the lucky applicants. Break a leg to all auditioning this weekend!

Congrats to your son, tcork128!! WOOHOOO!

Congratulations tcork128!!! Big congrats to your son!!!

Outstanding! How exciting for your son tcork128! Fingers crossed for all those still waiting with bated breath.

Thanks everyone! Having gone through this college audition process two years ago for our older son (who is now happily attending Rider University for MT) we were thrilled to get an early offer for S #2 at his top choice school. He promptly canceled his callbacks/auditions, declined offers he received from other great schools and has since been enjoying his senior year. It won’t be long now for all of the talented kids to find the right home. It all works out in the end. Can’t wait to see where everyone ends up!

Welcome Tcork128! I met your husband online. Please fell free to friend me on FB if you have any questions. Congratlations to your very talented son!!!

Thank you theatremomma. I don’t currently have a FB page but I think I may get one since I know it will be fun to meet all the Texas State parents. My husband appreciated the nice welcome and introduction from you. We can’t wait to get to know everyone better and are truly looking forward to the next four years. In the meantime, we are excited to see who will be joining this freshmen class!

tcork128 - and other future Texas State parents:
We do have a private parents FB group that we would love to have you join, and Kaitlin encourages everyone to join because we can answer a lot of the parent-to-parent questions that she couldn’t answer even if she had the time. We share info on campus housing freshman year, off-campus options after that, best places to stay and eat, we link up before shows and plan big group pre-show dinner gatherings, etc

Congrats and welcome to Texas State!!!

I liked hearing Kaitlin talk about how involved the parents are. Being a super involved boosters parent now, it’s nice to know that parents can still help out and be in the know even if they’re many, many miles away!

Thanks Do-what-u-luv and we would love to join the parents FB group. If you would please pm me with the link info. I would greatly appreciate it. What a nice way for the freshman class parents to get to know and become a part of the Texas State family. I agree GSOMTMom that it is wonderful for the parents to support one another.

tcork128 - I sent your husband a friend request, when he accepts, I will add him to the group. :)

When should priority hold kids hear?

We were at the auditions on Saturday and Kaitlin said they would try to let everyone know by March 1st. At least that is soon!!!

Thanks dancemtmom! Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Good Luck everyone! We actually would love to meet you all at TSU!!!

tcork128, You should kick off the FINAL DECISION thread. I got to be the first last year and that was fun!
