OFFICAL 10/22 ACT thread

Some idiot was making fun of me before the test for not bringing the "l337" TI-89. After the testing was done and I asked him how the math section went, he wouldn't respond. I'm still laughing.

ahahaaa

what was the stage one? where it asked for the angle of the light

60 degrees right?

Hey for the first passage in reading. Did it go from B as a diagnal like B,C,D. Then was it D,D then B,B? That was my pattern!!!! DID ANYONE GET THIS PATTERN!!!!!

I had 60 degrees, inscribed angle so it should be right...

LOL, honestly, I didn't pay attention...

I hope you're right because I think I put that answer... or did I??? hmmm I think I did. Whats the equation for that? and apfreak I put the one where it was like ABDA (they were starting and stopping on A remember) because you can't go from b to d on the perimeter without going to c or a first.

LOL hes talking about a series of answer bubbles, not that math question

I think he means pattern in the bubbles...

Hey for the first passage in reading. Did it go from B as a diagnal like B,C,D. Then was it D,D then B,B? That was my pattern!!!! DID ANYONE GET THIS PATTERN!!!!!

Yes the reading passage guys :)

oops, for the stage problem I put 120

because it said that the thingy was 1/3 of the circumference. So I thought the angle would be 1/3 of 360....which is 120.

The last time I took, I got 34 in Math and 33 in Science. This time i don't think I am even going to break 30.

I think I am gonna call ACT, and stop them from sending my scores to Princeton. However, if I do well, it would be too late to send it to Princeton by the time I get the scores.........

btw....I am so excited. I have never started a thread that ended up with over 8 pages:)

I am sorry for spelling official wrong....but my first post does spell in correct, so cut me some slack;)

Good luck to you guys. I think I am gonna view the score early, and then decide if I should send it or not.

I got 120 also annandale.

120 is the arc, where the light hit

it wanted the angle that the light moved on, which would be half the arc, or 60

at least I hope so lol

that's what i did jay, i hope i didn't misread ANOTHER question

yeah, if the spotlight was in the center, then the angle would be 120

yeah, it was a central angle not an inscribed angle.

The angle is 60 because the spotlight is on the radius of the circle. However, it asked for what angle it would pass through if it was moving from the left of the curtain to the right; essentially, if the angle was getting smaller. The only answer choice that this was possible for was 45.

i still don't understand that question - i thought it was asking for the inscribred angle (by the way ivy, it wasn't central, it was inscribed)..

I say 60, because..... first of all, 1/3 of the circle was 120. However, it ask for the inscribed angle (I remember 2 chords), therefore, it would be HALF of what essentially will be the central angle. :)

ugh

Anyone remember the last two science passages really well? The last one was the pine apple juice passage.

Hope it was 60...Most of the questions were straightfoward, not alot of trick questions like the SAT has...
