Well, thought I'd start this because I'd like to know when they start posting admits (if they haven't already...?). So if you get admitted post your stats! Thanks!

OMG I've been accepted yippy!!! =D

my stats:

GPA: 3.16
SAT: 1610
essays: good
ECs/volunteer/wrk exp: ok

anyone of you planning to go there?

my parents and I are going to visit Merced, Davis, Berkeley and Cal Poly SLO next week. I thought I should at least visit the campus before I make up my mind. I came from a really small high school so I wanted to go to a larger school that offers alot of things to do like athletics, clubs, etc...

I'm in as well.
Do they offer Regent scholarships?

oh yea, I got into Human Biology. The faculty seems to come from impressive background (i.e. Harvard phDs).
Can anyone shed light into the Human Bio program @ UCM?

Due to its small student population compared to all other public universities in California, do most students have a good chance of graduating in 4 years? I would imagine that registering for classes would not be a nightmare because there simply are not that many students there. Any response that can shed a light on this is greatly appreciated.

I got in to UCM and UCR too

umm how do you get your 'ucmNet ID'? was that like, mailed to us or something? hmm...

this should get the job done: https://idclaim.ucmerced.edu/index.jsp

On the UC website, it says that Merced's Regent Scholarship notification will begin on April 1st. Is that right?

I got in! I realized that Merced is really into "YOU" if you catch my drift. As new as it is, I'm excited to visit the campus and keep an open mind. I mean the school has nice new facilities and great professors and they have the major i wanted and is the only place that offer Social and Cognitive Sciences of all the places i have applied to. The major combines psych, economics and public policy. That's means I can go for Psychology, Business or Law school as a graduate!

taste, you can do business or law school with any major as an undergraduate. The major sounds interesting.

Has anyone received their acceptance letter in the mail yet?

Is it difficult to get accepted into UCMerced? (Mind you, I am keeping an open mind that reguardless that it is new, it is still a UC school)

??????????????????????//

If anyone has visted please post your observations. We got a letter that they are having an on the spot admissions day in a few weeks, and have extended application deadlines. The Social and Cognitive Sciences major sounds interesting.

I drove by it on my way to Davis. UCMErced is literally in the middle of nowhere. You have to go visit it to believe it. Don't get too excited over the "on the spot admissions," even if you are rejected from every UC you applied to, Merced and Riverside will extend its admissions to you (assuming you meet all UC bare requirements), whether you applied or not.

At least, that's what happened last year.
