Offical Notre Dame Transfer 2011

you said you had friends, so I am assuming you know others transferring in? if so, how many? i feel most people know…

no i have a couple friends that havent heard… but i have 3 friends denied(really didnt have the grades) then 2 other ones that got in already.

Any day now guys!

Still nothing today… is it a bad sign that its taking so long?

i don’t think it’s a bad sign that it’s taken so long - I’m still waiting for my official letter as well. The only reason that I know of my acceptance is because I got a phone call last friday to make sure I’m taking a stats course this summer. Still, it’d be nice to have the official letter in my hands - can’t wait!

Not a bad sign at all…was just informed that HOPEFULLY my letter will be sent out next week…

I missed a call from admissions today, and got a voicemail saying that they had my final decision but did not say what it was. I’m not sure if it was a good/bad sign but I’m really hoping I get the opportunity to go to ND!

Got word today that a decision was made on my application. I’m accepted provided that I get a B in my summer Calc. class!!! I’m beyond excited! I was shaking for like, 20 minutes! The actual letter should be mailed out sometime next week
Best of luck to everyone that doesn’t know yet!

aww congratulations bigmike!!

Congrats bro!!!

Congrats BigMike and all you other new Domers! And as I’ve said, they really do accept up until July 1st so keep the faith!! Mike, my son had to take two Math courses over the summer and get Bs in both – thankfully, summer courses seem to be more lenient thn regular term!! Terek, reminder that my son wasn’t notified until June 16th that he got in :)

I opened my letter today in the Main Building of Notre Dame and got accepted!!! Congratulations to everyone who already got in. Words cannot describe how excited and happy I am about this decision!!! :)

congrats dude! where are you coming from???

Terek I’m really pulling for you! I hope that you get in! I’m sure your acceptance call/package will come in the mail sometime this week!

Thanks man! I really hope things work out…it will be a heck of a story if all of us get accepted…I’m all that’s left! Congrats by the way!!!

Dont worry, terek. Youre not alone. Im still making the nervous walk to my mailbox every day too lol

Thanks TererkS!! I’m from Buffalo, New York. Never lose faith I’m sure you will get in. It’s a surreal day when it happens!! Best of luck to you and the rest of the future domers!

bigmike, greenx, and others that got their acceptance letter: congrats on getting into nd. unfortunately i’m still waiting to hear back. but i was wondering what your grades were like that got you in?

Thanks nick! I’d be happy to. Come to think of it, it’d probably be helpful to people in the future to post stats so they know what to like for. I know that I stalked all of the threads from last year involving ND transfer.

I had a high school (weighted) GPA of 3.52. No idea what it was unweighted. Ranked 65/189. Went to IU Bloomington where I got a 3.86 GPA after 2 semesters. SAT scores were 800 Math, 650 Critical Reading, 610 Writing. Was on IU’s equivalent of a Dean’s list, joined the honors college, took all of the math/science/writing/foreign language pre-reqs. Was a part of 2/3 clubs that had to do with my major, and the vegetarian club. My essay was about how I didn’t know that ND was the perfect place for me until I actually left South Bend for the first time in my life. I got a recommendation letter from my english prof. at IU, but had no idea what it said/how good it was. And I applied to Arts and Letters (FTT)

Hey nick! Like bigmike, I also applied for the FTT program at Notre Dame.

I had a 100 weighted average in high school, was ranked 3/150 in my class, and scored a 27 on my ACT.
I had a 3.87 cumulative average at Syracuse University this past year, was in the Honors program there, did some extracurriculars, and got a teacher rec. from my Econ professor
I had all of the Arts and Letters “core” credits/requirements needed to transfer (some were from APs and advanced classes in high school)
My essay talked about the program I was interested in and the Catholic and community aspects of Notre Dame that I felt I was missing out on at my current college

Best of luck to you and everyone else who is waiting for their decision. Never lose faith!
