Offical Nov Sat I - Math Experimental

Oh, I'm thinking of the one where you had to best improve the sentence.

i think leave it as it is b/c i didn't like any of the answers

what about the Ms. Oliver/Teacher of the Year one? What was the best way to conclude that passage?

i put chinatown also ebony, because he mentions in the end that the book was a blend of fact and fiction and was great for its excellent depiction of chinatown in the 1900s... but he never mentioned chinatown before, or elaborated on the idea. there was no substance to back up that claim, then, that this was a great book (not only for its blend of fact/fiction which was covered in the passage, but also for its representation of chinatown.)

although his account of the second (succesful) flight was somewhat short... it was still adequate... he mentioned what happened and what the fallout was.

and for the one about concluding the passage... im still confused... was it that the one that had the option "even with two articles published on the event, [author] put together an excellent novel of fact/fiction"

yes, "even with two articles published on the event, [author] put together an excellent novel of fact/fiction" was one of the choices (actually choice A)

yeah, he totally does mention chinatown at the end, and the book seems to be more about chinatown as a whole rather than that one guy, and at the beginning he made it seem as if he were supposed to be writing more about the novel, as if that was his focus...not just the guy

so is the section with trepazoid the experiemental one?

oh okay i remember that one now. the biography option was "instead of writing the guy's biography as he had originally intended... he wrote dragonwings." ...where in the passage did it say that he originally intended to write a biography? did i completely miss that, cuz i put A.

As someone wrote above.... "His second plane, too, crashed".

I said that "too" was wrong... was this correct?

Also -- on the math one with the mean going from 15 to 19 -- I put 65, how did you guys get 75? Are you SURE this is the answer? I'm going to double check right now...

CHINATOWN: you guys are referring to the question which said something like "Which should the author have written more about"? I wrote "his second flight" or something... I know it mentioned Chinatown at the very end but it seemed really random and unimportant... i don't really see how that could be the answer

On that same section, it asked where some sentence (about him making a plane in China), should be placed. I put "after sentence 11". Is this correct?

it never said that...but i just thought it sounded the best, esp. with all this random focus on this guy (who may or may not even be the main character, i dunno, has anyone actually read the book?)

i didn't pick A because it didn't have an 'even though with only 2 articles' - so it kinda felt like to me that 2 articles were supposedly enough to make it an 'excellent' work...i dunno, lol, that was my reasoning

i think the "too" is necessary because it emphasizes that it was the 2nd time his plane crashed, but as the next sentence says, "he didn't stop building planes" - even though both his first attempts failed

O

M

G!!!!!!!!!!!

realizes that 5*15 = 75

<pi.ssed></pi.ssed>

for the sentence 11 question, i put that the China sentence should be placed at the end of the 2nd paragraph, after the "he didn't stop building planes"

ok, can anyone please tell me that if the trepazoid is on the experiemental section?

No, it is not the experimental. I had reading experimental but had that question.

yeah i put after sentence 11 also.
hmm... for the biography one... that's a tossup cuz "even with" can be taken to mean the same thing as "even with only"
and i also didn't pick "delete too" though I thought about it... i put something else though... dont remember.
grrr... the paragraph correction is turning out to be trickier than its supposed to be.

williamx, are you sure? both the folded box and the trepazoid are on 25 minutes sections. And if the folded box is not experimental, then what else can the trepazoid section be? I am so confused right now

Can We Confirm 100% The Math Experimental Sections?

hello people, i am new here so bear with me if i'm not following forum protocool XD. I remember a couple of questions, and after reading all these posts here, I'm mondo scared about how I did, it's not shaping up too well for me. All of you do bad ok lol so I can do better. So here are some of my questions:

on one of the verbal sections dealing with the astronomy club, did they go to the archive or the planetaroum? the obvious answer is of course planetarium but mimic didn't seem like a better word than recreate(which was paired with archive) i ended up putting planetarium

For the last one on one of the writing skills sections, about the family in the hotel and the girls each wanted THEIR own beds, should it have been HER own bed?

i included the "too" in the dragonwings passage but i'm not sure about it, i'm second guessing myself now, as it did sound a bit clunky with the too included

also for the dragonwings passage i put the addition of how he built planes in china after sentence 4, although i don't remember what that sentence was, it was after the first sentence in the second paragraph.

Also, for the one about the equi triangle and the two circles with a common center, i put 1, is that okay? because that was between the required values...right? lol

i put more explanation about his flights for the yep passage too.

!!! i put 1080 instead of 1008. i hate myself! at least that was a grid in so i lose no points

finally, my layout seems different from everyone else...i had:

essay
writing
verbal
math
then some other stuff
did anyone else have writing and verbal to start right next to each other (that was mean, too much english jams my brain!)

edit:
the last writing skills section, were like the first 5 d?? psyched me out big time

what section was math experimental?? if you had it??? i think it was the second half of the test....

are the folded box and trepazoid both in 25 minutes sections?

i think the experimental was the one with the weird half circles inside and outside of a rectange....but...dont quote me on that...

i didn't have that, so i guess that ought to be the experimental. so can we agree on which 25mins section is def.not the experiemntal section?

caddy, did you have the trepazoid question with 60 as the answer?
