Yeah, I think that’s it! :)

Hey hey! I’ve seen Eiffel on quite a few of the other 2014 boards for the colleges I applied to! Lol.

I’m from Northern California… miles above Sacramento. I applied for Biopsychology and alternatively in Molecular Biology… I think. The application was submitted so long ago! :P

As of UCs, I also applied to UC Berkeley (top choice as of UCs), UC San Diego and UC Davis (already admitted).
Stats… Meh. 2100 flat on SATs, 32 on ACT, 700 on Bio-M (getting rescored), and 700 on Math-2. Uhmm. 3.96UW, 4.45W, 1st rank/325. President of a couple things, VP of another, Secretary of the same, and Treasurer of another, some random awards, lots of community service hours, la dee la la laa. :D

Ooh, which other boards/schools are you applying to that I’m applying to? :)

Also, not sure why you’re upset about a 2100 or a 32; both are above average for UCLA.

^Namely just Yale. Lol… But I think I saw you on the Stanford one… and if you are applying to Brown, then I must have seen you there…

Oh no. I’m happy with my stats for the UCs, just not the previously mentioned schools. I’m just… apathetic towards them. Lol. All the subcategories in them are all over the place.

Yep, I’m applying to Yale and Stanford, but not applying to Brown anymore. So, are you applying to Stanford too?

Yep! I also applied to Stanford. Which do you prefer? Personally, If I had to choose between the two, I would have the hardest time!

Between Yale and Stanford? Hmmm…I think I might like Yale better overall, but I like that Stanford is in California and is closer to home. It’s a tough one!

Hi all.
I’m a girl from SoCal, about half an hour away from UCLA. Future polisci major. I’m too lazy to post my full stats, but 3.9 UC GPA/2170 SAT/800 Hebrew, 730 US History/school doesn’t rank.

Hello, welcome! :)

I have the same opinion. Being closer to Stanford, my parents are in love with it and I would still be (relatively) closer if I went there. But Yale is more than amazing.

Welcome, samedifference! Great SAT/SAT II scores, by the way. Where else are you applying?

Drpvv, have you visited Stanford or Yale yet? Which schools have you visited?

I’ve been to Stanford a couple times with my family. They have my favorite Chinese restaraunt!
But I’ve never formally toured it. I haven’t been to Yale or its area. But I’ve been to Boston and Brown (though I didn’t tour it). Out of the schools I’m applying to, I’ve only toured UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego, and Pomona College. How about you?

I’ve only toured USC but I visited UCLA, UC Irvine, Chapman, SDSU, UC Santa Barbara. Out of those, I’m only applying to USC and UCLA though.
Which campus did you like the best, and what’s your favorite Chinese restaurant? :)

Out of the UC campuses, I liked Berkeley the best. I’m a sucker for old, greek architecture. If I wasn’t so obsessed with science, I would def. consider being an architect! Lol. I did like UCLA’s campus, but I don’t know how well I’d fit in with the student body. I do love running, but I’m not the most sports-oriented person, as everyone on their campus (especially the tour guides) seemed to be. Of course, it’s a huge campus with lots of people, so I’m sure I would be fine. But I also love the Bay Area (moreso than the Los Angeles Area). I liked UCSD’s clean and crisp campus, and I thought UC Santa Barbara had a pretty campus, but when I visited, it was really, really dirty. D:

There’s this small Chinese restaraunt in Palo Alto (so a bit off from Stanford itself, but still off of the main university avenue) called Mandarin Gourmet. They have the best food ever. And no other chinese restaraunt in this area has their amazing fried eggplant. I’m vegetarian, so I find myself somewhat limited in a lot of different Chinese resaraunts.

I can see what you mean about UCLA, but like you said, the student body is HUGE so there isn’t just one type of student. UCLA also has the very highest number of student organizations on any college campus, so I think you’d find your niche.
I agree about UCSB…the location is pretty (the ocean/beach/etc), but the campus was filthy when I visited…everything looked really run-down, the buildings didn’t look well-maintained at all, chalk writings on the ground, dirty windows, unclean bathrooms, et cetera…It made me decide not to even apply there.

That sounds like a really cool restaurant! I love Chinese food, so if I go to Stanford, I gotta try that. :D
