I'm getting very ****ed at these people now. I live in Michigan and I was told I needed to apply for in-state residency because my parents are divorced and my mom lives in Ohio. I live on the border and my dad is employed in Ohio as well. I called the office in November, outlined the situation and they said that it would be fine and I would be awarded in-state residency when my application was reviewed although they hadn't gotten to it yet because they were backed up about 8 weeks. I called again in December and gave them my UMID, they told me a decision hadn't been made yet and gave me the same 8 week figure again. Don't these people know this is incredibly relevant to the decision of what college to attend!? I can't commit to a school that is dragging its feet wanting to charge me 30k instead of the 10k I am entitled to. Did anyone else have a problem like this? And if so, how and when was it finally resolved?

It takes forever. Just be patient. I had the same problem, but my family had lived in Michigan for 10+ years and still had to submit that form.

All right, thanks. I’m sorry if I sound like I’m whining, but I’d really like to finalize this decision soon. I’ve lived in Michigan my whole life…so yeah.
