<p>We can perhaps come up with some reasoning as to why Cornell has or hasn't contacted people for their 1st quarter grades. Maybe it's by school, or maybe it's by major.</p>

<p>ok good, because after 100 people telling you the reason they ask some people for 1st quarter grads and not others (I'll tell you again: to help make decisions on some borderline students where grades are indicative of the aspect of the student in question), you shouldn't need to make a thread trying to come up with some different and more comforting reason.</p>
<p>they only ask students who theyre 99% sure theyll accept. the 1st quarter grades give them 100%. if they didnt ask you, youre prob in the reject/defer pile...</p>
