Subjective:
Essays: This is what got me the Notre Dame Scholar IMHO. I have a good hook, but it is sort of risky because it has to do with an illness that caused me to miss a lot of school in my sophomore year.
Teacher Recs: could be better
Counselor Rec: didn't read it
Hook (if any): missed almost 100 days of school my sophomore year because I was literally "allergic to the school", worked as an executive assistant in the office of the CEO of a major floor covering wholesaler/distributorship, URM
Location/Person: the Corpus Christi Metropolitan area in Texas
State or Country: Texas
School Type: public
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Gender: male
major strength/weakness: well rounded, high test scores, good leadership on my app...weaknesses: despite the high ACT, I'm not the top student in my class
going to attend? waiting for some other colleges, but Notre Dame is one of my very top choices

To everyone else who got in, Congratulations and GO IRISH!!! To those who were deferred, good luck to you. To those who were denied, my condolences. I have the utmost confidence that y'all will be quite happy at whatever institution you choose to attend.

Thanks to all for the prayers. They really paid off!

Nicely done nathan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats--- not like it was a suprise or anything------

t4knee, Congrats! I haven't been frequenting this board as often, since my second son is not applying to ND (He doesn't want to. What is wrong with him? ;) I think I need to take his temp or something haha). He is looking at continuing his football career in college, most likely either at UC or Dayton. UC would be free since his parent is employed there. After four years of paying for ND, guess which one I'm pushing! (even though ND was definitely worth the money).

Anyway, very big news, and glad to hear it. Very nice that the girls will be in the same place.
