DDjones, how happy is your household tonight- with your 'domer home ,with the future 'domer.
Sincere congratulations on such great news! What a Christmas present.

Congrats to all the other accepted students, and those not accepted now, things will work out-and, you will be happy whereever you end up. I know it seems unlikely right now, but other paths will unfold.

Good luck to all those waiting for the news.

Congratulations everyone! I'm so jealous, though! There's two from my high school who applied, we live in Ohio like four hours away from ND, and neither of us got our letters! Sigh... so I shall be nervous for two more days.

Thanks, Chessmom... It's definitely a Domer house now! My daughter is excited. My Domer son is also excited because we'll probably send up a (cheap, ugly, but sturdy functional) car up with them to save $$$ on trips to campus and home :)

Congrats to everybody--it's fun the read these! For those of you still waiting, hang in there... For those of you with dreams denied or deferred, my prayers are with you as well...

My daughter received a deferral letter from Notre Dame today. Does anybody have any statistics as to how many EA deferrals are ultimately admitted in Regular Action?

im right with you guys that got deferred.
man, my stupid SAT score messed it up (1280/1950)
what are my chances for regular action now?

It is a bit of a precarious spot, but the good news is that you were qualified enough for them to believe you had a shot in regular action. You are close. If you have gotten any new awards, be sure to send them. Send them new grades and SAT scores and anything which may help you.

I really don't know the odds of being accepted after being deferred but I do remember a few deferrals who were later waitlisted last year. That means little though, what is important is that you are close, so keep with it. Good luck, and take solice in the fact that you are very close which I personally think is not a bad place to be. Accepted is better, but being deferred is not bad. I do know people who have been deferred and later accepted, again, for what it is worth.

I hope that makes sense, I am writing this and watching Pride and Prejudice. The main thing I want to tell you is that there is certainly hope, but you have to send new information.

i've heard that 25% of deferred people get in. i think it will definitly help you if you send updated stuff. GOOD LUCK!

Where did you hear this from?

wow there are some good stats here..if you got deferred it just means they want to wait to see the regular pool before making a decision..Notre Dame is one of the most conservative schools when it comes to admitting people EA. if you end up getting waitlisted, maybe this year will be better than last year when they didnt take anyone off the waitlist.
