i think the cutoff might go up this year...

"The U.S. Department of Education projects the number of high school graduates to rise from 3.15 million last spring to 3.23 million in 2007 and 3.31 million in 2008 before peaking at 3.39 million in 2009."

the peak is in 2009.... but wow i kind of hate being part of the c/o 2008 right now.

These posts are making me feel bad about myself.

Can someone who has their scores please verify what my real scores would be if I had this projected SAT score range on my report.
Math - 720 - 800
CR - 650 - 760
I got these online, but haven't received it from school. I couldn't access my real score online due to lack of access code. For anyone who hasn't received their scores yet go online and log in if you have a college board account under the same name in which you took the test. Go to college quick start. Then click the college search part. You can get your range on the projected SAT score part.

Well if the cutoff is going up, do you think it's possible that it could go up as much as 7 points in some states? Last year the cutoff for MD was 223 and I got a 229 this year...but do you think it could go up as much as 7 points? That would almost be ridiculous. I'd be devastated (understandably I think).

But see the link a previous poster mentioned re: this year's writing scores:
http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/psat/scores.html#info
Who knows what will happen by next fall!

ruella:

you should be fine.. it wouldn't nearly go up that much. probably 3-4 points at most... besides, 230 is like outrageously high for semifinalist advance in any circumstance.

Has anyone seen this official pdf file. It contains score conversion tables for both Wednesday and Saturday's test.

I took the Saturday (10/21/06) test
Math: 38 right , 0 wrong, raw=38 points, scale=80
Write: 38 right, 1 wrong, raw=38 points, scale=77
Read: 45 right, 3 wrong, raw=44 points, scale=77

Total selection index=234.

I'm happy. Last year I got 231. The year before, as a freshman, I got 204.

My PSAT scores:

Math: 0 wrong 0 omitted 80
CR: 1 wrong 0 omitted 80 (Buya, nice curve)
Writing: 5 wrong 0 ommited 66 (sucks, i believe in "poetic license")

Total: 226 should be semi in NJ eh?

I did terrible, at least compared to all of your stats.

i did terribly too. lets go prove that we can get into ivies anyways, dank, sound good?

PSATs don't get you into college, they just get you some money...

I raised my PSAT to SAT score by 250 points back in the 70s (before recentering and 2400). No need to let a PSAT score defeat you now! :)

I did so badly =(

Reading=77 (2 wrong, 2 omitted. Nice curve)
Math=76 (1 wrong, 0 omitted. I messed up on subtraction 180-37=153 =()
Writing=62 (7 wrong, 0 omitted. Wow =()

Total=215

Think I have a chance at Ohio for Semi?
