<p>Haha. Not everyone is hating here you know. Itās just because the east coast, esp. NY has a tradition of high school research and a lot of other states donāt. A lot of states donāt even know what Intel STS is.</p>

<p>Yeah. And idk about all of the crap with people from NY having connections and stuff. I worked independent of a real deal scientist mentor person without connections and without the backing of some lab or university. Maybe that helped, idk.</p>
<p>i worked with a mentor, but didnāt have that much contact with her. Basically, if I needed to order stuff, I went to her, and if I had some trouble with my experimentation, i contacted her. But she had nothing to do with my application (xcept filled the mentor form).</p>

<p>Intel wonāt call til the night before because the press release is announed on the 30th and they donāt want the local press getting wind of finalists in advance.</p>
