I HATE CAL. THEY’RE SO F-CKING RANDOM!!!
There are so many people with lower GPAs than mine but got in. I just don’t get it!!! I think one of the main reasons is probably because I wrote my personal statements on a different major and not the one I put for Cal… Oh well… Bruins are better anyway ;)

^oh loll, i didnt read that carefully thru it haha, i just remember that my friend called me around 5ish to tell me last year, and this thread started at like 5pm so…yeah hahaha

UCB offered me about $5k more than UCLA. That was after submitting a financial aid appeal to both. If they don’t offer you enough and you will make less money this year than you did last year, be sure to appeal.

As far as financial aid was concerned, the schools were ranked like this (from most aid to least aid):

Are you one of these peeps that wear the Cal shirt everyday, have Cal stickers on there car, and tell everyone you’re going to Cal? Just wondering…

anonymousername-what was your screen name before?

The financial aid appeal isn’t difficult, but it takes a really long time. If you need to appeal, do it NOW (or as soon as your financial aid award is posted). You have to download a form from their website and attach all of the relevant docs. It has to be legit though, they won’t give you more money just because. In my case, I went from making about $19k in 2008 to making about $9000 in 2009. I had to prove it with paycheck stubs and proof that I left my full-time job at the beginning of the year. Berkeley’s financial aid department ended up giving me about $5k more after they reveiwed my appeal. They were very generous and helpful though, like I said, it took forever.
