Official 2009 Berkeley Appeals Thread.

omg… has anyone heard?

nope, i suspect that the folks at Berkeley are enjoying a day off. we’ll hear back sometime this week.

anth, when are you going to orientation at Davis?

Hmmm. Yeah, I think we will know this week for sure. I’m not going to any orientation at Davis until I find out Berkeley’s deal. Hey lifefree… you’re never on aim… what’s up?

i know, i rarely get on aim, but i’m on the computer all the time. you should look me up on facebook… i’m on there alot. tacy traverso

and those orientations are filling up at davis, you should at least confirm a seat in one of them so you can get choice classes if no berkeley. :)

Alright man,

I’ll look you up. How do I confirm a seat in the orientation? Can I do that without putting in my SIR?

Thanks.

i’m not sure about no SIR and confirming… and i signed up at myadmissions.davis.edu

:)

livefree… wanna go together should that be our fate? If so, what day did you sign up for?

i’m down, i’m going on june 22nd.

and i’m actually female. :)

Lol. Sorry. Guess something is lost in translation over the web! Thanks for bringing my attention to the orientation thing. I got so wound up in my appeal to Cal that I completely forgot about it.

yeah, if you can spare the 100, it would be good to do your SIR for davis too; time is running out. But, you should know from berkeley by the 29th.

and it’s probably cuz i said “wife” at one point. yes, i’m one of THOSE females. the kind that married a female. :)

Hey, I was just thinking… Its odd that only like 3 people posted on this page that they are appealing. The appeals page from last year had a TON more people posting. Maybe everyone gave up and we’ll slide in  Wishful thinking I guess :)

yeah, perhaps… we’ll see soon enough!!! hopefully my SAT scores were enough to counterbalance a previously weak GPA.

Livefree… Are you a freshmen applicant? SATs?

im in  still waiting

what day was last years thread showing that Cal posted decisions?

no, i am a junior transfer. i took the SATs because i applied to Stanford but i did pretty well without studying, so i sent this as “new and compelling” info in my berkeley appeal. my scores for critical reading and writing were on the high end of berkeley’s averages and this may help them decide upon my worth as a student.

Reaper…

Are you a transfer appeal? What are your application stats? From the looks of last year the transfer appeal decisions were revealed like this Thursday/Friday/Saturday… I guess we will see!

@ livefree… Ah interesting. Stanford requires SATs as a transfer applicant hu? I think I remember something about that. I was thinking about applying there but saw that and said forget about it! LOL. Yeah, I think that is fairly new and compelling information. Hopefully it will give you that boost we all need!

anth,

Im 3.52 GPA
4.0 in pre reqs (all done)
8-9/10 essay
Econ Major

Im 24 and had a 5 year layoff from school 6-7 yrs ago I had a cum GPA of a 2.5ish. Ever since starting school 3 semesters ago, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA while working full time and raised my GPA to a 3.52. I really thought that my upward trend along with my 4.0 in pre reqs would get me in :/

well see!

Everyone has new information to appeal with… I just wrote about sex and my passion for philosophy.
