AP Comp Gov - 2 (■■■■■)
AP French - 2 (;_
AP Calc AB - 3
AP English Lit - 4
AP Music Theory - 4 (Aural: 3, Non-aural: 5)

for those of you who got scores for both ap bio and ap chem? what would you say the cutoff was for a 5?

for chem I’d say about a 110/160, for bio I would say a 93/150. i think the bio was much harder in comparison to the other years and the chem was way easier.

Here is how you calculate the curve for chem:
multiple choice (50% of test grade):
75 points x 1.0666667 = 80

short answer (50% of test grade):
Part A
1, 2, 3: total 28 points x 1.71428 = 48 (60% of short answer)
Part B
4: total 15 points x .5333333 = 8 points (10% of short answer)
5, 6: total total 16 points x 1.5 = 24 points (30% of short answer)

and for bio =
(raw mc x .9) + (1.5 x points FRQ)

i still have no idea how i did on my aps

Calc BC - 5
AB subscore - 5
Comp Sci - 1 (self, sort of…i took the class a year ago then spent two months teaching myself the whole course again and subsequently failing)

I really didn’t care about Comp Sci. I needed the 5 in BC for A) placement and B) prove my physics C teacher wrong. He spent the whole semester telling me I was a horrible math student and he regrets letting me into the class because my Calculus skills aren’t up to par. Obviously my calc skill are up to par because at my school BC is like the death class and only the best math students are allowed to take it, I was qualified to take multivariable second semester, and I got a 5 on the AP exam so he can suck it : ) (I love venting on CC)

Hooray for paying $8 to listen to your AP scores! I wouldn’t get a paper report anyway (didn’t get one last year :(), so I figured calling would be the only way to get my scores.

USH: 4
Art History: 5
Chemistry: 5
Calc BC: 5/AB Sub-score: 5

I’m happy. I was killed by the Chem test, but I guess the curve was generous? Who knows. And I was scared I wouldn’t get a 5 on the Calc test, but yay! Now for college apps… 1 month until the Common App is released.

can anybody else tell me what they thought of the chem/bio curve?

Really? It struck me as surprisingly easy. That wonderful succession FRQ saved me :)

5 on chem
5 on us gov
5 on stats (self study)
4 on spanish lang… i seriously thought i was going to get a 2. i am probably the happiest about THIS score.

2010:

Calc BC - 5
AB Subscore - 5
Stats - 5
Macro Econ - 5
Micro Econ - 5
Spanish - 4
Physics C: Mechanics - 5
Physics C: E & M - 5

@noimagination
ap bio:
no way that test was hard; my school made us study all the things that weren’t emphasized on the test
that last FRQ killed me…
the third FRQ on genetics saved me (hopefully)
the second one was easy, but I messed up by crossing out on the graph paper beneath the data points. i also averaged the rate after calculating the slope, and not answering the second part of the question that asked you to draw the steeper curve
the first one was a killer and so was the fourth one

idk about the mc.

i mean i guess it was easy for those who studied more ecology than molecular in ap biology.
**
can anybody provide me with a reliable curve for this year’s bio and chem?**

US gov: 5
world history: 5
eng lang: 5
bio: 5

last year
ush: 5

I’m pretty thrilled

world curve must’ve been good because i thought i fd up the whole test.

@notreal: We’re opposites. The third question was a total fiasco for me. I’m not sure if anyone can really hope to offer a reliable curve at this time…

APUSH-3
AP LANG-3
I did a whole lot better than I thought I would do

I am wicked surprised and ecstatic about my scores, especially considering the circumstances.
Calculus AB: 5(No surprise here. 99 for the class)
Comp Sci: 4(I only took Intro to Java and was no remotely interested in it)
Environmental Sci: 3(Teacher literally did not cover half the material. Was her 1st time teaching AP)
US Gov’t: 3(Grade was 38. Did not study at all. Did not do ANY work for the last 2 months. Writing Obama jokes at the end of all my FRQs probably saved me)

When are the grade distributions usually released?

All 5:
English Lit
English Lang
French
Chem

I’m super happy. I was expecting a 5 in Chem and probably Lang. I thought I’d get a 4 on Lit and maybe a 4, but probably a 3 on French, so I’m very excited.

Calc AB: 5
Expected a 4, so this was a pleasant surprise. I found the MC super easy, but I thought the FRQ killed me. I won’t complain, though. :)

English Lit: 5
Expected a 4 because of the killer MC- I was between 2 answers on so many questions. But I knew my essays were really good.

Macro: 4
Was nearly confident on a 5, but I messed up big time on one of the FRQ’s and the curve was probably not that generous this year because of the easy MC.

Micro: 4
What I anticipated. I self studied this one, and am fully happy with this score because I got what I need to place out of intro to econ.

Bio: 4
Thought I had a 3 best case scenario. Apparently my grader appreciated how I wrote the lyrics to Don’t Stop Believing all over the test.

Physics: 3
No surprise. As the end of the year approached, I became frustrated with the class and just gave up. I’m lucky I didn’t walk away with a 1 or 2.

@noimagination lol yes i guess we are

@puggly123, the grade distributions are usually around the same every year; CB tries to maintain it

same with the curves, but they vary a little bit year to year, except for chem, which literally has no reliable curve. that test is constantly changing and the curve has varied about 20 points.

Comp Sci A–4.

Thoroughly pleased. Didn’t really expect anything, but I’m glad I passed.

Oh Lawd. My scores just made my jaw drop. I didn’t believe the voice, to be honest, and I still think an error has been made, because I obviously had no ****ing idea what the hell I was doing when I took those exams.

Here they go:

Art History: 5
Biology: 5
English Literature and Composition: 5
U.S. Government and Politics: 5
Calculus AB: 5
Spanish: not yet available (did anyone else get this?) However, I’m expecting anywhere from a 2-4. I don’t want to jinx things, you understand.

Is spanish really not yet available?
