Guys, how about the essay topics about environmental change and demographic shifts?

wouldn’t it depend on the time period? lol
like for the 1750-1914 period, the environment got polluted because of industrialization
but for the foundations period, agriculture caused the soil not to be fertile anymore etc…
for demographic shifts, you could talk about the one child policy in china if it asks about the 1914-present x3

hey guys… yeah I haven’t taken the test yet, will tommorow but on the mock I got a 5 (60/70 MC, 6/6/8 on essays) so I’m not sure if I’m gonna need to study much more or not because I have heard its not that hard.
Anyways, just making sure, this question has been bugging me a bit, for CCOT:
Let’s take the US intervention/containment policies in latin america. So from 1914-(2012?) era they did this, and before they didn’t. So is this a continuity because they did this throughout the period, or a change because it changed from before 1914? I’ve always assumed the latter.

i think it’s a change bc it changed from before 1914… i think you compare it to what happened in previous time periods?

This is my notes that i found, not sure if this helps or not:
Bantu Migrations- language
Huns
Germans- Gothic style
Polynesia
Aztecs- Texcoco taking over south (Tenochtitlan)
theres probably a bunch more that have to do with immigration.
and as for 20th century, think Mexico–> US border migration, I guess… at least my teacher said it should count.

this is to ronaldofan, since I also heard the rumor of migration

Not really, because it’s within the same country. Moving from the outskirts of a city INTO the city is not migrating. :p

However, one thing you could talk about is Mexican and European migrations in the 1920s, and how when the depression struck, the US placed a quote on immigrants into the US because they were taking American jobs.

thanks so much! btw, how did you quote my post? x3

Good luck to everyone! My test is starting in about 45 minutes and I’m leaving to go to the testing site now!

^Good luck! It’s 5:45 here right now. Woke up really early so I could enjoy my breakfast and make sure I get all my coffee down :P

thanks MirandaKh and gl everyone!

thoughts about the test guys?

mc was solid + easier than i thought (although i thought some questions were VERY nonspecific in that both answers could definately apply). FRQ’s were good except forgot some facts for C&C so probably lost some points on that, COT though was pretty good but felt i lacked some evidence =/. but overall felt like a 4/5

It was easy :D

for the mc, there were a lot of questions where i was able to narrow down to two answers, then i had to take a guess
the dbq was pretty good. cot was ok… and i didn’t really know what to write about the last one so i just bsed it lol.
