accepted from MA- very excited!

Caligirl, can you post your stat?

yea i dont really want to be too specific so basically:
GPA: weighted- mid 4's, unweighted - high 3's
SAT: each section above 700
SAT IIs: scores between 650 and 750
ECs: many with consistent involvement
reccs: havent read but i would think pretty good
essay: i think it was good, could have been better

I was accepted EA.

800 V 680 M 740 W
760 US History 740 Physics 680 Math I
95 w GPA
Will graduate with 7 APs

ECs up the wazoo (but still focused on two or three, put a lot of hours in).

congradulations - is this where you think you will go?

UPDATE

5 more acceptances, 9 more wait-lists, and 1 rejection Saturday and today from Boston Latin School. Sadly, I was not one of them.

Wow that's a lot of wait-lists.

So it really does appear to be totally random this year...

Although there still have been more rejections/waitlists than acceptances

3 or 4 acceptances at Boston College High School

also 10-12 rejections/waitlists

wow- wait list is crazy, but i know two people who got off it last year

ahhhh anxiety is setting in on the West Coast....

yea how many people usually get off the list?

No word yet in Massachusetts. Is this a good thing?

yeah im from mass. too and i haven't heard.

some kids in my school have heard but they have all been rejected

Im in NY, and all 3 kids that have heard are rejected so far

So is the general consensus that its repeating last year's pattern of rejection/waitlist/acceptances or is it more randomized?

There seems to be quite a few more acceptances so far than at the same point last year. Still, more people are reporting being rejected or placed on the waitlist.

Well, considering the overall acceptance rate it certainly would seem normal for there to be many more rejections/waitlist than acceptances even if sent out in a random order.

I was rejected. I knew it was a total gamble and I'm not upset.

My GPA was around 4.0 weighted, with honors/AP classes, 1300/1990 SAT (750v/550m/690w), 780 and 770 on SAT IIs, but I had mediocre extracirriculars. I think maybe the Math SAT score hurt me more than I thought it would and of course there were probably thousands of applicants with the same stats who had a better appeal than I did.

Good luck to everyone! I'm hoping this rejection isn't going to mean more rejections from similar colleges. =/

wow plumcross, that frightens me. those are some pretty good stats! better luck with your other colleges!
