i just got my letter and it says almost 27,000 people applied for 2250 spots so that's just a bit more than a 10% acceptance rate...is this true??? that sounds insanely competitive and i know BC's usual acceptance rate is in the 30s% explicame por favor

10% is not the acceptance rate. 27000 people applied...and i'd say about 30% get accepted. those who are accepted and actually decide to go to BC = 2250.

ek1099~they will not accept more students overall this year than they have in years past--they have had a very difficult time finding space for those who have accepted in the last few years because the yield was higher than expected. In spite of new dorm construction they simply don't have the capacity for more students. With the increase in applications the acceptance rate will probably be closer to 25% in order to get their expected numbers.
