Accepted, College of Arts and Science! :)

i’m an international student and haven’t received anything yet.
how does that “tabs” thing work?
can someone please explain?

^ You’ll get some links that say “Pay Enrollment Fee” and another that says “Financial Aid Award” when you login to Agora. Or something like that.

Now do you believe the people who said they had tabs a week ago or do you still think they were ■■■■■■?

my boyfriend just got his acceptance into the school of nursing. both his parents attended BC. :)

he got a 28 ACT, 550 range on SAT IIs, pretty solid (almost all As) rigorous courseload, lots of latin awards and theater. pretty exciting!

lol @mrshowell, I’m sorry, I don’t believe anything until I see proof (a screenshot). I, myself, actually got tabs on Thursday, like MOST RD applicants.

Accepted. Got the large envelope today.

kinda stunned

how did winston53’s daughter ever get in, my credentials were alot better I got straight out denied. I am so mad at BC, because now I have a feeling I won’t get into any top school. Look at my profile again, on the 1st page, 2nd decision.

College admissions are NOT a numbers game…a concept most people on College Confidential can’t seem to understand.

@caizzacuz17: I got waitlisted but then got in to a more selective school so it’s not the end of the world.

I got in! Whoo, but I had a concern about the political and religious views at the school. I am a Jewish, left wing californian, and I’m usually not one to worry about other’s views, but I also don’t want to be isolated because of mine. Or worse, pressured into converting. Can anyone answer this for me?

Dear caizzacuz17 : First, you have to be very careful in comparing profiles when they are from different schools, particularly when Nursing or Education are compared with Arts and Sciences or Business. Second, do not use Boston College as the only yardstick for comparison as it is only one selection process from your multiple applications.

Some thoughts on your profile as it was posted on the first page: Obviously, we have not seen your essay and really have no view on how you sold yourself to Boston College in the admissions process. Your SAT scores are below the accepted midpoint for last year’s class (2060) which placed you into the third quartile. You did not have any editorial review over your teacher recommendations which seems to have been a very large last minute concern in your profile. Also, your guidance counselor’s recommendation might have just enumerated aspects of your profile without showing anything specific about you as a potential student at Boston College.

As we have often written here on College Confidential, now is the time to table your deferral and focus on the priority order and decision making process between your other college choices. If a Boston College opportunity should come back around to you, that will be the time to focus on a BC future. For now, turn the page and begin thinking about other schools that resonated with you.

Best of luck with all of your future applications.
