General comments (how you feel, any advice for future applicants, etc): I’m excited! My advice for future applicants is to true your hardest in Highschool, and that dedication to activities is alot more crucial than just a laundry list. UF does understand that taking 15 AP Classes is alot more challenging than taking 6 for example, so even if your GPA isn’t perfect don’t be discouraged. Test scores aren’t the most critical factor in admissions as well, and can often be offset by other positive aspects in someone’s application.

I was Accepted Saturday!
I am not a transfer applicant; it’s just that I applied about a week after the deadline. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to get in at all because of that, but I guess stranger things have happened.

I don’t really want to fill out the huge profile thing, haha, so… Quickie Profile!

Essay was horrible horrible ashamed-just-thinking-about-it, but I probably just feel that way because I was rejected REA from Stanford for using it. Didn’t even really fit UF’s prompt, either. Crazy!

MY FRIEND GOT ACCEPTED!! And she applied a month or two after the deadline; I’m so happy Her SATs were good (2050 combined) and she had straight A’s. I hope she comes with me (since Barnard and Cornell are a little too pricey). UF is still an awesome school. :)

Is it possible for her to be my roommate, however?

If she applied as late as you say she did, her housing priority number is at the bottom of the pile. You can request each other as roommates, but your housing priority will be based on the worse number of the two of you, and I would assume that would be your friend’s. Doesn’t mean you won’t get any housing, but you won’t get any choice. And, I’d check and confirm this with housing … no guarantee your friend is even on the list as there is not enough housing to give to every freshman who wants it as well as the few returning students who sill request it. They may tell you she has no shot.
