Official 2011 AP US Government Thread

So, who’s ready?

Know all of the material, however still reviewing. Only part that has me heavily worried is the FRQ portion.

I’ve been following the news pretty closely for the past few years, and have been frequenting political forums. I’ve also been able to scrape by in my class with barely a 90%.

That is what worries me. I’m great at broad trends, but horrible at details =[.

I’m still in a long process of reviewing stuff…I just need a 3 to get college credit

Seems like FRQs are more difficult this year, in order to compensate for the removal of the “guessing” penalty.
I don’t normally have a problem with FRQs (usually get 12-15 out of max. of 15 points) however some just own me. :frowning: (5/15)

So, any guesses on what the FRQs might cover?

Aren’t there specific topics that the FRQ must cover? I remember reading that somewhere, maybe on College Board. However, because of the change in the multiple choice questions, that may have all changed.

I just took a test in class and I missed 9. I’m feeling alright. Haha more time for bio and Econ :p

I assume FRQs will have something about the house and senate, that seems to be common, and something with efficacy or voter turn out.

WOOO FRIDAY NIGHT, let the studying begin. is this pathetic or awesome i can’t decide

It’s time for the test trading to begin if anyone has some to trade. I have AP World and APES.

I doubt that the test will be bad at all. It’s simple fact memorization, if you have that down, you pretty much have it in the bag.

I have a guaranteed 4, but I think with enough cramming on independent administrations, federal grants, and the individual amendments, I could have a 5…

@supyall: I’m reading out of Crash Course for the next 3 days. Haha.

I have no idea what to do about this test. I have Physics C on Monday, so my weekend’s gonna be devoted to that. I’m just gonna wing it and watch CNN and bs

LIKE A BOSS

I still have so much review ahead of me. And I keep getting all the countries confused… Nigeria and Mexico, in particular. ><

TIME TO CRAM.

Come on… let’s get this thread active.

I’m going to look over flashcards… I’m terrible with court cases though; I get them all mixed up. Do you guys think court cases are a large part of the test?

There are definitely bound to be a couple court cases in the MC. I would study the court cases, but the most important cases I think are in the second link I gave above. Court cases would also be nice to include in the FRQ as examples, wouldn’t they? :P

Yeah I know the big ones, but there’s a lot of court cases to know. How many on the multiple choice would you say that you need to get correct in order to get a 5? I took a practice exam and got 53/60 which is 88% do you think that’s good enough?

Has anybody on here taken this exam before and can give some feedback as to whether it was difficult or straight forward?

Let’s trade some exams? That’s the best way to a good score on this haha.
