I will be applying to Columbia.

how many recs does columbia require?

I know penn requires mid yr grades.... but it seems that many of the other ivys do not. I will obviously look more into this but does anyone else have any info to offer? Harvard for instance, I believe only asks for courses in progress, not specific grades. I shold really double check on this but if anyone has info, please do share. Thanks!

I'm applying to Penn. Maybe you all can tell me what you think, because I don't think that I am the ideal applicant. I am at a state school in New York with a 3.6 GPA (kinda low I know). I really want to go to Penn because I have just realized I love anthropology and Penn has an anthro department that revolves around a specific theme that really interests me. I know that 3.6 is kind of low but the thing is, I have legacy, and I am attracted to Penn for a very specific reason (the anthro department). What do you think? Do I have a shot at all?

Is anyone else out there an anthropology major?

transferkidd,
I only see that H wants college transcripts for completed coursework, do you have a link to where they request courses in progress? Thanks. Brown does ask for a college transcript that lists courses in progress. I don't see a request for courses in progress for Yale or Dartmouth.

I don't see that any of these request mid year grade reports.

If Penn does actually require mid-semester grades I cannot send them a transcript. This is what my university website says:Mid-semester grades are intended as a student measurement, are not used for any external purpose, and are not recorded as part of a student's permanent record.

that doesn't necessarily inhibit you from have each of your individual teachers fill out the form stating your grades as of then

Columbia and Cornell

Where do we download the mid-term report form for Cornell???

The Common App

Cornell ILR!

What's ILR?

Columbia--> Yale

Chances of getting in? 3% =)

for people applying to multiple ivies, what would be your top choice if accepted everywhere? mine would look like:

Brown
Harvard
Columbia

celticsfan, mine would look like:

Yale
Harvard
Dartmouth

of course, I'm just being very optimistic here :)

Mine would be:

Harvard (without a doubt)
Yale
Cornell

I would have to say...

Dartmouth would be my first choice with Harvard and Yale tied for second.

Harvard
Yale
Stanford
Columbia
Brown
Wharton

now I guess we can scratch Harvard off our lists :(

No kidding. Thats a cold slap to the testes, that one. Glad I didn't/couldn't apply to Harvard.
